Officers Call Hunting Incident Unintentional

Officers with the Division of Natural Resources were investigating a shooting at the Colliers Sportsmen’s Club in Brooke County.

Officials said 67-year-old David Nale from Colliers shot 35-year-old John McKinney from Follansbee during a hunting incident. Emergency crews said the victim was alert and conscious when he was flown to UPMC in Pittsburgh. He suffered a single gunshot wound to the back of the neck. Officials said the shooter used a .17-caliber rifle. Investigators said the shooting was unintentional, but Nale could still face charges.
