HAMBLETON – Edward Lee Evans, 39, of Sugarland Road, was squirrel hunting near his Hambleton home at approximately 2 p.m. Monday.
Evans stopped and shot at the squirrel with a .22-caliber Hornet rifle; however, the gun did not discharge. Cool said Evans opened the action on the rifle and it fired, hitting him in his left foot. Cool said Evans sustained lacerations and some broken bones in his foot.
