WI: Trempealeau County man dies Sunday night in hunting accident

An Arcadia, Wis. hunter died Sunday night in Buffalo County after his ATV crashed.

Gregory A. Fedie, 57, was reported missing at 11:54 p.m., according to the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office. He had left his house earlier in the day on a four-wheel ATV to move tree stands, and had not returned.

During a subsequent search that lasted into early Monday morning, deputies discovered that Fedie had been involved in an ATV crash on a hillside and died at the scene from his injuries, according to the department.

Several agencies assisted in the search, including the Waumandee/Montana/Lincoln Fire Department, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and the Independence Police Department.

No further information was available Monday morning. The incident remains under investigation.
