Rep. Joel Kleefisch apologized Monday for receiving a hunting-related ticket over the weekend but said the incident serves as an important lesson for other hunters.
Kleefisch was hunting turkeys early Sunday morning when he killed two birds with one shot. However, he didn’t have a tag for both turkeys, so he contacted a park warden and reported the incident.
Kleefisch said he received a ticket because several years ago he had received an earlier warning for shooting three geese with one shot.
