A hunter who was separated from his hunting partners for more than seven hours was found safely in the Township of Sumpter Saturday evening, according to a Sauk County Sheriff’s Office report.
Three men were hunting in Baraboo when one of the men stopped to rest and was separated from the other two shortly after 3:30 p.m.
The other two hunters returned to their vehicle and were unable to locate the third man, and called police for help. After a search party was sent out, a Sauk County Deputy located the man near Baxter’s Hollow in the Township of Sumpter. The man was cold and had a minor leg injury, but refused medical treatment, according to the report.
