Police say a duck hunter was shot and injured by a deer hunter on Sunday in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

It happened around 2 p.m.

Witnesses tell Milwaukee-based TMJ4 the duck hunter was dressed in camouflage and the shooting appeared to be accidental.

The Town of Oconomowoc and the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene. TMJ4 has also learned the ambulance that was called to the scene crashed into a light pole and was taken away by a tow truck.

Neighbors say the injured hunter was eventually transported to a nearby hospital. There is no word on their condition.

The incident remains under investigation. The Wisconsin DNR says they will release more information on Monday.
