MECHANICSVILLE, VA – A 60-year-old deer hunter was shot and killed Saturday afternoon while hunting in the Suggetts Point area of Richmond County.
While hunting deer, Keith Joseph Williams was shot by another hunter, 45-year-old Wavely Alphonso Veney, Jr.
Veney saw movement, and discharged one round of buckshot from a 12 gauge shotgun striking the Williams. Veney has been charged with involuntary manslaughter, hunting without the proper licenses, violation of a protective order, reckless handling of a firearm and attempting to take deer unlawfully.
