PARADISE — Norman E. Newbold, 57, was pheasant hunting with three other men at the Paradise Hunting Club on Tuesday. One of the hunters was shooting at pheasants when he slipped and fell down in mud, causing his 12-gauge shotgun to go off in the direction of Newbold.

He was struck in the back and immediately collapsed.
