HYRUM — Deputies responded to a report of a woman who had been shot in the leg at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Bryant Randall, 61, was preparing for a hunting trip and was handling a .45 caliber handgun when it discharged, striking his wife, Annette, who was sitting on the couch, in the upper thigh.

The bullet fragmented and exited the back of her leg.
