A man who reportedly fell into the icy water of Century Lake Saturday morning was sent to the local hospital for treatment of hypothermia.
The local game warden discovered a man slumped over in a vehicle at Century Lake. The man was said to be wet, discolored and shivering hard. He was dangerously cold to the touch, and the game warden requested EMS as he believed the man to likely be suffering from hypothermia, according to reports.
Hopkins County Emergency Medical Services personnel responded at the lake on County Road 4703 and transported the man to the hospital, with suspected hypothermia.
The man was believed to have gone from a boat into the frigid icy water while retrieving a duck. He hit a “drop off” and struggled to stay afloat.
