A child was hurt Sunday in a hunting accident at Rough Creek Lodge Sunday afternoon.

When deputies arrived at the scene they found a child on a stretcher with blood on his face, but conscious and talking.

A guide who the child had been hunting with was also injured after he was peppered in the left arm by a shotgun.

“The father and son were on one side while hunting and the guide and another son were hunting on another side when a bird flew in the direction of the guide and the child… The guide then attempted to shield the child that was with him and was peppered…”
