Dane Marcotte, 18, died Saturday night during an accidental shooting while hunting near Woodville, Texas.
Sheriff’s deputies found Marcotte lying in the back of a pickup truck with a gunshot wound to the abdomen
Marcotte’s cousin told investigators that he mistook Marcotte for a deer and fired from his deer blind as the sun was going down, Weatherford said. The cousin said immediately after he fired the shot, someone yelled his name and he realized that he shot his cousin.
