KNOXVILLE — A Blount County man, already facing charges of illegal bear hunting earlier this year, was arrested for allegedly shooting at a large deer from his vehicle Monday, state wildlife officials said.

Christopher Caughron, 23, of Maryville is accused of taking a shot at the large buck just as a Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officer happened upon the scene, according to a TWRA news release.

Durnin was able to photograph the suspect’s vehicle as he fled. The officer chased the suspect until he surrendered at Northshore Drive and Ebenezer Road.

Caughron is charged with felony evading arrest, felony reckless endangerment, hunting on revoked privileges, hunting from a motor vehicle and hunting from a public road.
