New Cumberland River Rescue is preparing to begin its tenth day of searching along the Susquehanna River for a missing 17-year-old hunter.
The search for Medard Kowalski was expected to resume sometime after 9 a.m., according to Matt Stoner, the New Cumberland River Rescue commander.
Stoner said today’s search will focus on an area from Ross Avenue in New Cumberland south to the York Haven Dam.
Medard went missing the night of Dec. 1. His family said he headed out on the river in a canoe and was planning to go hunting.
Search crews have so far recovered Kowalski’s backpack, the canoe and an oar, officials said. Their search at times had also centered around Hoak Island, where Kowalski’s family said he was headed.
