A Berks County man died after accidentally shooting himself with a crossbow while hunting.

75-year-old James Jacobs, of Temple, was hunting with his son on their property when the incident happened.

State police say Jacobs was driving deer towards his son in a tree stand, when he fell and shot the crossbow into his side. He was struck through his abdomen and lung.

Jacobs was later found be his son after he failed to come past the tree stand.
