Mischelle Hileman became lost during a November 2002 elk hunt in McAllister Creek Canyon in Wallowa County. Hileman spent eight days and seven nights of numbing cold in the wilderness.
Hileman neglected to wear warm clothing or tell anyone where she was going.
Her legs froze during the wilderness ordeal and doctors subsequently removed them just below the knee.
