John Hamblin, who had a valid southwest Oregon spring bear-hunting tag, was cited on May 26 near Logsden on suspicion of illegal bear hunting with bait as well as hunting outside the boundaries of the area for which he had the tag.

According to the report, in addition to a hunting rifle and a compound bow, Hamblin also was carrying a gallon bag of grain and tallow, which is rendered animal fat.

The bow, rifle, a trail camera and tree stand were taken as evidence as well a 55-gallon plastic barrel and a 5-gallon can full of bait material.
