ACTION! Oppose H.R.424 and S.164
H.R.424 and S.164 are two bills that have been referred to the House Committee on Natural Resources, and the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, respectively. Both are horrific pieces of legislation that would lift federal protections for gray wolves in the Midwest and Wyoming, and they need vigorous opposition
The aim of this legislation is to prevent courts from overruling a decision by the Interior Department to remove wolves in Wyoming, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan from the endangered species list.
If allowed to be passed into law, the bill would decimate fragile wolf populations and benefit no one but pro-hunting interests, while having a devastating effect on myriad wildlife species.
The law would allow the trapping and hunting of wolves, and including using dogs to pursue them. It would also allow unlimited shoot-on-sight killing of wolves across 85 percent of Wyoming.
Unregulated killing is music to the ears of ruthless hunters and ranchers who want nothing more than to maximize profits and pleasure off the blood of wildlife. These special interests have never met an animal they didn’t want to kill, and they must not be allowed to move forward.
C.A.S.H. urges you to IMMEDIATELY contact your senators and representatives and tell them to vote down this lethal legislation, *especially* if they sit on one of the committees where these bills reside.

SAMPLE LETTER:
Dear XXXX:
As a voting resident of the area you represent, I respectfully urge you in no uncertain terms to oppose H.R.424/S.164, a bill that will have devastating consequences for wolves and other wildlife species. This bill is being advanced by special interests that oppose the kind of wildlife protection measures that are supported by myself and the great majority of American citizens who wish to see wildlife protection expanded and strengthened.
The objective of this bill is to prevent courts from overruling a decision by the Interior Department to remove wolves in Wyoming, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan from the Endangered Species List. The Endangered Species List is under attack, perhaps like never before, and the wildlife it protects must be allowed to thrive.
Please oppose this harmful legislation. Your response will be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Your Name
