EDMOND, Okla. — On Oct. 29, a buck was shot near Interstate 35 and Southeast 33rd Street despite the hunter not being allowed to shoot within city limits.

An bow hunter on an adjacent property heard the shot and notified a game warden. The poacher admitted to shooting at a deer, and a game warden found a buck that had been shot and crippled.

The poacher was written several citations, including unlawful possession of wildlife not legally taken, hunting without required daylight fluorescent-orange clothing, and for discharging a firearm within city limits. He pleaded no contest and will pay fines around $2,000.
