A man who was reportedly illegally hunting ducks was cited earlier this month by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

The man, who was not identified, was reportedly observed in a kayak in a marsh area near Dillion Wildlife Area.

A wildlife officer with ODNR reported that it became obvious the man was hunting ducks after watching him for some time.

The officer made contact with the man, who admitted to hunting ducks but said he had not killed any.

The officer told him the area was not open for duck hunting and was issued a summons for hunting ducks out of season.

The man paid $165 in fines and court costs.
