Timothy Minnich was hunting with his 13-year-old son Malachi in Dinsmore Township Tuesday. When they were finished for the night, Timothy stated he had opened the right rear door of his pick up truck and set the barrel of his rifle on the back seat. He said he was in the process of clearing the weapon when his son opened the rear door on the other side of the truck, stepped in front of him and this is when the gun went off.
The round struck Malachi in the front of his left thigh about half way between the knee and the hip joint.
