BOLTON — Benjamin Davis, 37, was arrested Monday after a man said he was injured by a hunter in the area of East Schroon River Road.

The man heard a loud bang near his camper, then said a second shot struck his camper and his left thigh.

Davis is charged with second-degree reckless endangerment and a state environmental conservation law violation for discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, police said.

Davis is a 14-year State Police veteran and has been suspended from his duties.
