Man struck by bullet
NOVEMBER 14, 2010
THERESA – A town man suffered a gunshot wound Saturday evening when a bullet
pierced a wall in his mobile home and struck him in the shoulder.
The injuries to the man, who state police investigators declined to
identify, were non-life-threatening, police said. He was taken to Samaritan
Medical Center, Watertown, for treatment.
Police said the man was walking in his residence at 32919 County Route 46
when the bullet came through a wall in the home’s rear, striking him. His
wife, who was washing dishes nearby, was not injured.
Police believe the shooting was a hunting accident and are being assisted in
their investigation by state Department of Environmental Conservation
officers. The shooting occurred at about 5:20 p.m., after dark.
State police investigators were going door-to-door Saturday asking neighbors
if they saw anyone hunting in the area. No arrests had been made late
Saturday.
