SOMERSET — A Barker man fell about 12 feet out of a tree stand yesterday while taking a seat out of his tree stand, the sheriff’s office said.

The responding deputy, along with Barker Volunteer Fire Co., found the man lying on the ground under his tree stand, conscious and alert. The man said he landed on his left arm and could not feel it.

The man’s wife and son were on the scene; his son took possession of his shotgun and belongings and removed his vehicle from the scene.
