6 men used to rescue hunter from creek

SPRINGVILLE, N.Y. (WIVB) – Hunters in the Town of Concord helped save one of their own Saturday morning.
Rescue crews tell News 4, 62 year old Dale, Trautman was crossing a creek Saturday morning when he slipped and fell into the water.
He managed to pull himself out but his leg was broken.
Nearby hunters heard screams for help and called 911.
It took six men to pull the hunter through the rough terrain.
David Klenk of the Springville Fire Department said, “He had been in the creek at least 15 minutes before the first call came out for 911. And by the time we got him at the top of the hill with all the stabilization we had to do and getting the equipment down it was about an hour and 45 minutes before we got him at the top of the hill. He was very cold, very wet and still talking when he left here.”
Crews carried the hunter out of the woods to a landing area for Mercy Flight.
He was taken to ECMC and is expected to make a full recovery. .
