SPARTA, N.Y. (AP) — The Department of Environmental Conservation says 48-year-old Christian Smith of Phelps and 47-year-old Glenn Gosson of Fairport killed one horse and wounded another while hunting on the evening Jan. 24 in West Sparta.
Both will lose their hunting privileges in New York state for three years and have been ordered to pay restitution for the horses, including the burial fee and veterinarian bills. Each man also will have to pay a $200 penalty.
