Hunter Shoots Bullet Through House, Just Misses Resident

A New Hampshire couple was sitting in their living room Monday when they heard a loud noise, followed by the discovery of a bullet hole in their wall.

Prior to police arriving at the Pelham residence, Michael Crooker, 25, knocked on Raymond and Sandra Gladu’s door to apologize for shooting a 12-gauge shotgun in the direction of their home.

An immediate investigation revealed that Crooker attempted to shoot a deer, but missed and the shotgun slug went directly through the Gladu’s home, nearly hitting Raymond.

Crooker was placed under arrest, and is charged with felony reckless conduct, prohibition, unlawful use of a firearm, negligent discharge of firearms, and a violation of attempting to take a deer with a firearm after the end of deer firearm season.

Crooker was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail. He will appear in court on Jan. 26, 2015.
