ND: North Dakota man says he will plead guilty to illegally trapping golden eagle on reservation

BISMARCK, North Dakota — Tyrell Bateman is charged in federal court with unlawful take of a bald eagle. The charge carries a maximum penalty of one year in prison and a $100,000 fine. Bateman says he will plead guilty.

Investigators say the eagle was snared in a trap northeast of Selfridge on Jan. 5.
