A 14-year-old boy was shot during a hunting accident in Jones County.

According to Jones County Wildlife Officer Stewart Abrams, on Monday, April 20, a 14-year-old boy was accidentally shot in the face by his friend while turkey hunting.

“The boy’s name can not be released because he is a minor, and the investigation is still ongoing,” said Abrams.

The boy was transported to Duke University Medical Center in Durham for treatment. As of now, there is no update on his condition, or the severity of his injuries, according to Abrams.

Both the 14-year-old and his friend live in Jones County, according to Abrams.
