DILLON – A Superior man was killed by a stray bullet while hunting in Beaverhead County over the weekend.

Edward Anderson, 56, was hunting with his father-in-law in the Black Mountain area west of Dillon on Sunday. The father-in-law reported that Anderson had been dropped off and had not returned to his starting point as planned, according to the Beaverhead County Sheriff’s Office.

A coroner’s examination found that Anderson died as a result of a single gunshot wound to his chest, a wound that he could not have inflicted upon himself, according to the sheriff’s office.
