Here are highlights from Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer (CO) reports for the week ending Sept. 19, 2016.
- Conservation officers Ben Huener (Roseau) and Demosthenes Regas (Blackduck) nabbed one individual for catching an over-length sturgeon and attempting to smuggle it home.
- CO Tim Gray (Bagley) caught a bow hunter using an apple mineral block bought at a local sporting goods store.
- CO Mitch Lawler caught an angler using two poles to fish for sunfish from a pontoon. Enforcement action was taken.
- CO Angela Londgren (Cambridge) cited a hunter for hunting over bait.
In the west Metro area, CO Chelsie Leuthardt followed up on wetland violations and walked her wildlife management areas leading up to bow season.
She seized a trail camera left in a WMA in violation of state law and left behind a seizure receipt for the owner of the camera to contact her.
