LAKETOWN TOWNSHIP, Minn. — It was a dangerous 24 hours on a lake west of the metro. A 6-year-old boy drowned in Lake Parley on Friday, and a 60-year-old man drowned in the same lake on Saturday.
Authorities say preliminary information indicates Hunter Andrew Heyrman, 6, of St. Bonifacious, was duck hunting with his father Friday morning when the boat he was in by himself (without a life jacket) drifted away from the dock.
Authorities found the boy in the water and he was taken to Ridgeview Hospital in Waconia where he was pronounced dead.
Less than 24-hours after the child drowned, officials with the Carver County Sheriff’s Office say a 60-year-old man who was duck hunting on the same lake fell into the water.
Authorities say Dean William Buetow was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center where he later died.
