GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WZZM) – Just over a month ago, a hunting accident left school principal Ron Koole paralyzed with no feeling below his chest.

Five weeks ago, Koole went bow hunting. He said he was climbing a tree to his tree stand when “the chain that held the top of the tree stand in place broke; the next thing I knew, I was on the ground, and I knew I had a serious accident.”

Koole’s spinal cord had been severed. He will likely never walk again.
