DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — A jury convicted South Berwick police chief Dana Lajoie of placing salt or food in a place to lure deer as well as hunting from an observation or blind overlooking the bait.

A judge imposed a $400 fine for baiting deer, a $400 fine for hunting from an observation or blind overlooking the bait, and another $100 fine for not wearing hunter orange.
