WEST GARDINER — A hunting accident Saturday morning sent Zachary Woods, 31, to the hospital after he apparently slipped and shot himself in the foot.
“He was apparently beginning to start his hunt behind his residence and heard what he thought could be a deer,” Allarie said. He said Woods flipped off the safety and the firearm went off when he slipped on some rocks, striking himself in the right foot.
