A Myersville man was treated for a gunshot wound after he accidentally shot himself in the foot while hunting groundhogs Monday afternoon, according to the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon investigating, deputies determined the 63-year-old man was hunting groundhogs in a field near Forrest School Road.
While hunting, the man lowered the muzzle of his rifle toward the ground and the gun went off, striking the side of his foot.
