Two Morgan City men cited for deer-hunting violations
Agents cited John Maynard, 18, and Dylan Giroir, 22, for two counts each of hunting deer during illegal hours with artificial light, hunting from a public roadway and spotlighting from a public roadway.
Around 11 p.m. on Dec. 12 agents cited Giroir and Maynard for hunting deer during illegal hours, hunting deer from a public roadway and spotlighting from a public roadway. Agents seized a .22 caliber rifle, 9 mm pistol and 12-gauge shotgun.
On the morning of Dec. 13, agents received a complaint in Assumption Parish about a deceased deer that was found shot about 80 yards from a nearby camp on Hwy. 400. Agents knocked on the door of the camp and Maynard and Giroir opened.
Maynard and Giroir admitted to shooting the deer at approximately 7 p.m.
and were cited with another count of hunting deer during illegal hours, hunting from a public roadway and spotlighting from a public roadway.
