The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office was alerted about Charles Steiner Sr., 53, who didn’t return home from a Wednesday evening hunt. Steiner was found shortly after in his deer stand.
Steiner told deputies he’d fallen while walking, but managed to get into his stand. But, after sitting for a few hours, he couldn’t get down, according to the Vernon sheriff’s office release. He was flown to Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria.
