“These awards highlight not only the harvest, but also the commitment of hunters and trappers to conservation of natural resources across NY.”
Hunters are obviously so conservation-minded and skilled that the DEC had to add this note:
“Entries may be disqualified based on incorrect species ID, improper game or firearm handling, evidence of illegal hunting methods, or failure to report harvest…” (meaning they kill more animals than permitted.)
They continue:
“Photographs should be respectful of the animal and any implement in the photo.”
Holding the body of an animal you’ve just killed while grinning is considered respectful?
We hope and trust that manipulating wildlife populations into huntable numbers, deceiving the public by telling them that wildlife populations are out of control and need to be hunted, turning sensitive animals into mere targets and calling it by
the pretty name of “conservation” will one day be brought to an end.
