LARGE STRETCH OF JERSEY SHORE BEACH ROPED OFF TO PROTECT BIRDS FOR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

In a positive move by a government agency, New Jersey Fish and Wildlife made moves to protect a stretch of beach where a pair of American Oystercatchers had established a nest.

The happy couple was nesting in the sand in Belmar, NJ. The agency erected signs at 7th Avenue Beach warning people away.
