Indiana Conservation Officers investigated a hunting incident that occurred in Ripley County on Friday night near the town of Cross Plains.
According to victim statements, he and 2 other teenagers were raccoon hunting when 1 of the boys dropped a .22 caliber rifle causing it to discharge.
The bullet entered the front of the victim’s left thigh, approximately 4 inches above his knee and stopped just before exiting the back of his leg approximately 1 inch above and to the right of his knee.
