A long time hunter’s education instructor with a lifetime achievement award for his work pleaded guilty to violations stemming from incidents in 2011 and 2013.

“My understanding of the violation was that (Grant Bodily) allowed his son to shoot a deer illegally during a hunt, and that is what he confessed to,” says Mark Gamblin, Regional Supervisor for Idaho Department of Fish and Game.

Documents say he also admitted to letting his son shoot another Buck in 2013. That Buck was injured and never located.

Grant Bodily told investigators he didn’t feel like he did anything morally or ethically wrong.

Bodily lost his hunting privileges for one year, is barred from being in the field during open big game season, and must pay more than 750 dollars in fines and restitution. The judge also gave him 20 days in jail with all 20 suspended and one year probation.
