IA: Guilty pleas entered to hunting violations

Three youth recently entered guilty pleas to a series of hunting violations before Tama County Magistrate Ann Kuhter.

Colton John Kroeger, 16, pleaded guilty to 15 violations. He was fined and assessed court costs totaling $3,012.

The charges were three counts for deer harvest with aid of motor vehicle and three counts for deer harvest with artificial light, two charges each for deer harvest after legal shooting time, deer harvest with a prohibited firearm, and illegal transportation of untagged / poached deer and one each of discharging a rifle from a public highway, deer harvest with no valid deer license tag and trespassing violations while hunting deer.

Jonah L. Bearden, 17, pleaded guilty to 11 charges including two counts of deer hunting with aid of motor vehicle, trespassing while deer hunting, and one charge each for deer hunting with artificial light, wanton waste of deer, discharge of firearm from public highway, deer harvest with prohibited firearm, and deer harvest after legal shooting hours. He was fined a total of $2,115.

Robert Duane Posekany, 16, pleaded guilty to charges of deer harvest after legal shooting time, deer harvest with no valid deer license or tag, illegal transportation of untagged poached deer, deer harvest with aid of motor vehicle and deer harvest with artificial light.He was assessed fines and court costs totaling $975.
