The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says this year’s gun-deer season has had two minor shootings.
A 41-year-old Portage County hunter was sitting in a tree stand last Wednesday when he was hit in the foot. A 57-year-old hunter had fired the shot on an adjoining property and the bullet had traveled nearly 470 yards. The victim was treated at a hospital and released.
A 65-year-old hunter was lowering his gun from a tree stand Thursday when it discharged. The bullet just grazed his thigh, causing a minor injury.
