On Saturday, the Grant County Sheriff’s Department says a hunter accidentally fired a shot into the palm of his own hand.

Gergory Knot, 32, of Mukwonago, was hunting for deer on private property in Beetown Township.

Police say Knot was sitting in an elevated ladder stand. He was loading his
.45 semi-automatic handgun, when the gun discharged striking him in the palm of his left hand.
