DUFFIELD — A Southwest Virginia man was taken to an area hospital for treatment Tuesday after he was injured in a hunting accident in Scott County.
Gary Sloan, 57, of Duffield, was transported to Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport for treatment for hip and other injuries he suffered after falling out of a tree stand Tuesday morning.
Rescuers said Sloan was attempting to exit a ladder stand located 12 to 14 feet up a tree when he slipped and fell to the ground.
