Texas Game Wardens cited three duck hunters who killed 17 green-winged teal over bait in McLennan County, authorities confirmed.

According to officials, the hunters were cited for the baiting violation near Axtell. One hunter received an additional warning for illegal dumping after wardens found duck carcasses from a previous hunt dumped on a neighbor’s property.

Game wardens seized the 17 ducks and donated them for food purposes. Civil restitution is pending in the case.
