A Delta County Game Warden is recovering in the hospital after being shot in what officials believe to be a hunting accident early Sunday evening.

Game Warden Chris Fried is stable after being shot in the chest while he was bow hunting.

It happened around 6:00 p.m. at the Cooper Wildlife Management Area, in between Paris and Sulphur Springs. Fried was flown to Hopkins County Memorial, where he was listed as stable before he was taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital.
