COSBY-Creighton N. Lute, 25, of 430 South Highway 32, in Cosby, was arrested Friday, Oct. 4, and charged with seven counts of cruelty to animals, seven counts of reckless endangerment, and possession of a prohibited weapon after he allegedly shot seven hunting dogs that chased a bear cub onto a residential property owned by Timothy Pitts, the Cocke County Sheriff’s Department reported.
Lute received additional charges this week: three counts of vandalism under $500, and 10 counts of aggravated cruelty to animals, according to General Sessions Court.
