A young father was shot and killed by his wife in an alleged hunting accident on Koekoeskop farm near Northam in Limpopo.
The shooting accident reportedly happened last week while their three-year-old son was watching.
According to a report by Netwerk24, the 31-year-old Freek Kloppers was shot and killed by his wife Megen (25) on his farm in Limpopo last week on Tuesday.
The report furthermore states that there were more witnesses.
Megen was arrested shortly after the shooting and has since appeared in court on charges of culpable homicide as well as the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition. The case was postponed to Wednesday. it is not yet clear when she will be applying for bail.
Freek’s father, Pieter Kloppers, told the publication that Freek was shot in the upper body.
He said the group of people was not on a hunting expedition but was merely taking a drive when they spotted the porcupine and hunted it.
